Debate

A debate is a setting which has public speaking in it. It usually is based off of factual information or statistics and possibly even video documentary.

Publicly speaking in a debate is persuasive at best. One has to persuade the audience that their argument is more valid than the opposing side's argument.

Impromptu

An improvisational speech is a speech that is performed by a speaker without the speaker having any preparation prior to speech delivery.

Charisma plays a huge role and analyzing the audience is one of the key factors on whether this speech will fail or pass.

Persuasive

This speech is generally used to convince an audience to do something pertaining to the topic in the speech.

This is mostly used when selling a product such as oxy clean. The speaker must establish good credibility and persuade the audience perfectly.

This speech can also be used to persuade audience members to donate, switch a brand, or to change a lifestyle.

Informative

The informative speech is usually just a speaker conveying facts to the audience this is usually accompanied by references to back up the speaker's speech.

Most commonly used in business speeches when informing the audience about a business or charity such as the Locks of Love organization.

Demonstration

A demostration speech speaks for itself in the form a million videos located on the internet.

A demonstration speech will usually have a speaker either showing to instructing the audience in how to accomplish a task. A very common example would be a how to cook this video or demonstration.

Autobiography

The autobiography speech is used in several different ways; one is can be used as a form of introduction, or two it is the main point of the entire speech.

An autobiography details the history of a person and gives the audience an insight to their character by highlighting key points to that person's history.

It is usually a speech given when one must provide history such as an answer to the question 'why did you choose to do this'.

Special Occasions

One thing most want to know is when in real life would a speech be necessary in particular during their lives.

I'll start with the Special Occasions speech genre.

First is the introduction speech where a person gives a small speech introducing another person. This can be seen on shows or events such as the Grammies.

Second is the acceptance speech which is usually a speech given by a person who has just won an award, an example would be winning  a grammy where they usually give speech thanking some one.

Third an entertainment speech which is given when offering words or congratulations for example after a wedding as a toast.

Fourth is an Inspiration speech which is usually set to inspire the audience such as a reach out speech or one a coach gives to a team.

These are only in the special occasion speech category and each one could potentially occur in one's life.
